Industrial engineering and construction

The Automated Parking Company

Merge two sister companies into one site that gives an architect a pit depth and a developer a cost per space, without inventing anything neither could prove.

Overview

The Automated Parking Company manufactures and installs car stackers, puzzle systems and fully automated garages. Its sister company runs the UL 508A panel shop that builds the control cabinets inside them.

The brief described a straightforward migration of the panel shop’s website onto the parking domain. An audit of both sites, and of twelve reference sites across industrial controls and engineering, found that was the wrong shape for the job.

The challenge

The destination was not an empty domain. It was already a substantial live site with a product range, fifteen named installations and years of articles. The real task was merging two brands, not moving one onto a blank page.

The two companies sell to different people. The panel shop’s search traffic is almost entirely engineers looking for control panels; the parking side is developers and architects. Folding one into the other would have served neither, and would have put the panel shop in competition with its own customers.

Most of the numbers a buyer needs — structural loads, lead times, response times, outcomes on completed jobs — were not written down anywhere.

What we did

A full audit of both sites and twelve reference sites produced a positioning, a sitemap, a redirect map, and page-level briefs covering search intent, schema and conversion path for every URL.

Ten pages were built as a working prototype on a shared design system — six reusable templates plus the hub pages, one stylesheet, one script, no build step.

The design leads with published dimensions rather than photography, because the dimensional data already existed and the photography did not. Clear heights, pit depths and capacities are set as headlines instead of buried in a PDF.

Anything unverified renders as a visible, labelled gap rather than a plausible guess. A case study with no measured result has no results section at all. That turned the prototype into a precise list of what the client still needs to supply.

What it does

  • Interactive cutaway showing what sits inside a parking structure
  • Published clear-height and capacity tables, ungated
  • Filterable index of installed systems
  • Two-step project form with conditional routing for service enquiries
  • WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard-operable throughout, spec tables that restack on a phone
  • Strict Content-Security-Policy with no inline styles or scripts
